Every Bluetooth device has a unique 48-bit address
- BD_ADDR (pronounced “B-D-Adder”). In addition to identifying each
Bluetooth device, this address is used to determine the frequency hopping
pattern that is used by the Bluetooth device.
This figure shows the structure of the Bluetooth device address (BD_ADDR). The diagram shows that the upper 24 bits are an organization unique identifier (OUI) and the lower 24 bits are the device specific identifier that is assigned by the manufacturer of the device.
